Field Manager - Miscellaneous Metals Construction

Position Overview: The Field Manager at MFAB is responsible for overseeing field operations, ensuring that construction projects are completed on schedule and meet safety and quality standards. You will supervise a team of Foreman, Welders and Installers managing field schedules, and coordinating with project managers to keep projects running smoothly. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient resource allocation, field preparation, and compliance with safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
● Safety Meetings: Conduct weekly toolbox safety meetings with the crew to reinforce safe working practices and provide project updates.
● Pre-Production (Print Review): Perform pre-production planning by reviewing blueprints, creating tool lists, and visiting job sites as necessary to ensure the team is prepared for installation.
● Resource Allocation (Field Schedule): Manage the field schedule, allocating resources and assigning daily tasks to ensure project timelines are met.
● Equipment Rentals & Call-Offs: Coordinate and manage equipment rentals and call-offs to meet project needs.
● Hardware Prep: Prepare hardware for field crews to minimize downtime and reduce the need for additional trips to hardware stores.
● Take/Gather Photos of Finished Installs: Document completed installs by taking or gathering photos to ensure accurate records of project completion.
● Fleet Management: Maintain fleet vehicles in coordination with the Shop Manager to ensure they are in proper working condition for field operations.
● Field Timecard Management: Oversee field crew timecards, ensuring accurate tracking of hours worked and approval of time off requests.
● Field Receipts: Gather and submit field receipts to accounting, including written descriptions of purchases made during field operations.
● Supervision of Construction Crews: Supervise and manage construction crews of 4-10 members, ensuring tasks are executed according to the project schedule.
● Project Progress Reporting: Conduct weekly meetings with upper management to report project progress and address any issues or concerns.
● Daily Logs: Gather and Review Daily  Logs to ensure notes are written professionally and concisely and to address any issues identified. 
● Safety and Quality Compliance: Guarantee strict compliance with safety precautions and quality standards on all job sites.
● Steel Structure Erection: Lead the erection of structural steel frames, bar joists, decking, and installation of stairs and handrails.
● Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts to safely erect steel structures as specified by blueprints.
● Material Handling: Unload and organize prefabricated steel materials for efficient construction.
● Structure Alignment: Ensure the precise alignment of steel structures both vertically and horizontally.
● Welding & Assembly: Use welding and cutting equipment to assemble and connect steel components according to project requirements.
● On-Site Problem Solving: Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to resolve any on-site issues and ensure project momentum is maintained.
